Johnny's Thoughts

This poem comes from the heart of Johnny, one of the main characters in the novel 'Johnny Boy's Bones.'

In the stillness, I am—
a thought that don’t belong,
a shadow, soft, with no name.
The wind talks,
its words fall like stones,
but me—
silent, still,
a whisper lost in what used to be.
