Sit.
Let your weight settle,
into the floor,
into the Earth that has held mountains and oceans
for four and a half billion years.
Above you, stars burn.
Some of their light began the journey
before there were human eyes to see it.
You are small against this vastness—
a flicker in four thousand weeks,
a note in the great silence.
And yet—
